VETERINARY AND COMPARATIVE
PHARMACOKINETIC WORKSHOP
2011 COMPARATIVE PHARMACOKINETIC WORKSHOP
October 3-4,
2011
Location: Raleigh, NC
The focus of this two day workshop, now
offered nine times since 2003 in Raleigh or at CVM-FDA, is to provide
attendees a comprehensive review of pharmacokinetic principles applied to
veterinary and comparative medicine. A goal of the course will be to integrate
basic concepts into practical applications. Topic to be covered include
fundamental concepts of modeling, pharmacokinetic parameters, compartmental
versus non-compartmental approaches, study design, bioequivalence, estimating
withdrawal times, estimating dosage regimens, modern software, practical
statistics involved in curve fitting, therapeutic drug monitoring, population
pharmacokinetics, interspecies extrapolation and effect of disease or
interactions on pharmacokinetics in animals.
Instructors for this course are Drs. Mark Papich and Jim Riviere. All attendees will receive a copy
of: Riviere: Comparative Pharmacokinetic:
Principles, Techniques and Applications. 2nd
Edition, Wiley-Blackwell, 2010.
The
venue for this course is the Blue Ridge
Ramada Inn, 1520 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC . A
block of rooms is being held and should be reserved as early as possible (Phone: 919-832-4100, mention
